Available massage treatments for your Couples Treatment.

  1. Swedish massage: This is a gentle, relaxation-focused massage that uses long strokes, kneading, and circular movements to promote relaxation and stress relief.

  2. Aromatherapy massage: This type of massage uses essential oils to enhance the massage experience and promote relaxation.

  3. Deep tissue massage: This massage is designed to target deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to relieve tension and pain.

Swedish Massage.

Swedish massage is one of the most popular types of massage that people can get. It is a relaxation-focused massage that is designed to energize the body and improve overall health.

Swedish massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, and long strokes that flow toward the heart, improving blood circulation.

This type of massage is gentler than deep tissue and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.

Swedish massage may help reduce symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety. Some of the symptoms that could be managed by massage therapy include back pains, headaches, muscle issues, and other chronic pains.

During a Swedish massage, therapists use kneading, long strokes, deep circular movements, and passive joint movements to relax you, stimulate nerve endings and increase blood flow and lymph drainage.

A traditional Swedish massage involves the whole body, and you will begin on either your back or stomach and flip over at the halfway point.

Aromatherapy Massage.

Aromatherapy massage is a type of massage therapy that incorporates the use of scented essential oils into the massage.

During an aromatherapy massage, fragrant essential oils are applied to the skin using a carrier oil such as jojoba, sweet almond or grapeseed.

The massage involves alternating between gentle and harder pressure while using a specific blend of essential oils.

Some of the most popular essential oils used in aromatherapy include bergamot, Cedarwood, chamomile, eucalyptus, geranium, ginger, lavender, lemon, orange, peppermint, and tea tree.

Aromatherapy massage is used for various reasons, including relaxation, pain management, improved mood, and emotional healing.

It can help to reduce stress, anxiety, muscle tension, and symptoms of depression. Aromatherapy massage can also promote the healing of both the body and mind by relieving pain, reducing inflammation, releasing tension, and improving circulation.

During an aromatherapy massage session, the massage therapist might diffuse essential oil in the room or add a few drops of oil to massage lotion and apply it directly to the skin.

The therapist will conduct a medical history to determine the appropriate essential oil for the client.

Deep Tissue Massage.

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage that targets deep layers of muscle and surrounding tissues.

It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues.

Deep tissue massage is mainly used to help people with sports-related injuries and chronic pain.

Here are some key points to keep in mind about Deep tissue massage.

Benefits:

  • Deep tissue massage may improve circulation, reduce minor aches and pain, increase range of motion, and ease inflammation.

  • It can be an effective treatment method for various conditions, including sports injuries and back pain.

What to expect:

  • Before your deep tissue massage, your massage therapist will want to know about your problem areas.

  • A deep tissue massage can involve your entire body or just one area.

  • Once ready, you’ll be asked to lie on your back or stomach, under a sheet.

  • Your level of undress is based on your comfort, but the area being worked on will need to be exposed.

  • The massage therapist will warm up your muscles using a lighter touch. Once you’re warmed up, they’ll start working on your problem areas. They’ll use deep kneading and stroking with varying amounts of intense pressure.

  • It’s not unusual to have some lingering soreness for a few days following a deep tissue massage. Using a heating pad or a cold pack wrapped in a towel may help to relieve soreness.

Risks and considerations:

  • Deep tissue massage is not for everyone. It may not be the best option for those who have a low pain threshold or are looking for relief of tense muscles1.

  • Deep tissue massage can be painful, and some people may experience discomfort during and after the massage.

  • People with certain conditions, such as pregnancy, may need to avoid deep tissue massage or get clearance from their Doctor before receiving it.
